Data Analyst - Entry Level

Position Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting business analyses and studies, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition, and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions, and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Candidate will be responsible for conducting business analyses and studies, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition, and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions, and initiatives.
• Prepare forecasts and analyze trends, reporting regulations, and business conditions.
• Develops and analyzes metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports, and recommendations related to management, organizational structure, policy/procedures, and business systems.
• Identifies potential business risks.

Required

• Active SECRET clearance
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field
• Experience with modeling, simulation, and computation methods and a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a non-STEM field may be substituted for a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field.
• Alternate education/experience accepted: Associates + 3 years, or High School + 5 years
• 1 year of relevant professional experience in business analysis a plus
• Pro-active approach to problem solving and assigned tasks
• Willingness and ability to learn and apply new methods as required by the particular analysis
• Comfortable working with a number of object-oriented programming languages and environments, such as Python; Java; C++; C#; R; MATLAB; Simulink
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in data analysis and modeling

Desired

• A Master of Science degree in a STEM field is highly preferred.
• Experience applying a variety analytical and computational methods, including Classical and modern statistics, Differential equations, Linear algebra
• Experience using a variety of modeling and simulation methods, including Discrete event simulation; Agent-based modeling; Network simulations: Physics-based modeling; Markov decision processes; Hidden Markov models; Stochastic processes; Monte Carlo and bootstrap methods
