Job Description

We are looking for Application Architect Team Leads to be part of the team discovering an exciting future where innovation, technology, and teamwork set the pace. In this role you will collaborate with the Product Manager to translate high-level business requirements and system-specific functional requirements into product solutions.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Lead a product development engineering team from start to delivery with close interaction with the Product Management group. Work closely with other architects and programmers to research, create, design and implement products for the ERP systems in an industry standard Java based web services environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee product development engineering teams.
  2. Responsible for the design and implementation of application products in a Java stack including presentation, business logic and persistence layers.
  3. Ensure technical architecture meets the needs of the functional requirements as developed by the functional product manager.
  4. Oversee the technical design, create technical specifications and coordinate resources to create application products as required or requested by the functional product manager.
  5. Perform the tasks necessary to support the development, QA and Beta teams in the implementation of the architecture including architecture reviews, problem solving, consulting with team members and customers.
  6. Work with Help Desk team on a regular basis to provide support for technical issues that are encountered.
  7. Communicate directly to the customers to gain a better knowledge of issues.
  8. Perform other related responsibilities, including attending industry conferences, delivering presentations at JAM, providing technical training/demos (internal and external), some documentation and similar activities, as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Masters degree Preferred.
  2. Knowledge of the functions and needs of Administrative Software used by higher education, specifically in the financials or business office areas, with a focus on ERP software development is strongly desired.
  3. Working knowledge of SQL/ODBC databases and utilizing analytical tools and data warehouse solutions.
  4. Experience in developing technical specifications and perform database design is required.
  5. Experience with product development tools, Office tools (Word, Visio, Powerpoint, etc) required.
  6. Experience with UML design paradigm, specifically Use Case methodology, required.
  7. Experience with User Centered Design and Information Architecture required.
  8. Strong analytic skills in interpreting business requirements and turning them into functional specifications required.
  9. Demonstrated commitment to quality work required.
  10. Strong written and verbal communication skills required including customer communication.
  11. Must be a team player.
  12. Higher education experience is preferred.
  13. ERP application design experience is preferred.
