Duties/Responsibilities:
- Bidding platform preferred is Tekla.
- Prepare estimates on new projects in relation to structural steel processing and fabrication.
- Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications for preparation of estimates.
- Prepare take-off of materials and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs as part of the estimate.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships and build customer relationships.
- Mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as knowledge of structural steel materials and construction technique
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a structural steel estimator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
