Accounting Manager

Title: Accounting Manager, Hybrid

Location: New Brunswick, NJ area
Salary: $165 - 175k base plus bonus

Overview
Highly visible Accounting Manager role with opportunity for advancement. Position reports directly to the CFO. 7-10 years of accounting experience desired. CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
3. Maintain compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and laws.
4. Implement necessary updates to accounting policies and procedures.
5. Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
6. Ensure the integrity of financial data and mitigate financial risks.
7. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance to develop their performance.
8. Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
9. Identify areas for improvement and optimize financial performance.
10. Communicate financial data and explain insights to senior management.
11. Coordinate and assist in external audits, and preparation of audit schedules.
12. Ensure audit readiness and assist in resolving audit findings.
13. Identify opportunities for automation and implementation of accounting software solutions.
14. Serve as a liaison, providing financial information and analysis to support cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
2. CPA preferred.
3. 7-10 years of experience in accounting.
4. Supervisory experience preferred.
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
6. Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
