Job Title: Lead Engineer, Systems - Rolling Stocks
Location: Los Angeles (Monrovia, Torrance), CA
FLSA: Exempt, Full-Time

Overview:
The Lead Engineer, Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading and coordinating the development, integration, and validation of complex systems for Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs). This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of innovative transportation solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not are limited to:
* Lead the team in solving complex problems through thought leadership and robust analysis.
* Develop, advance, and retain talent by leveraging both internal and external resources.
* Guide rolling stock subsystem vendors to deliver acceptable products on time by providing timely and relevant information.
* Represent the engineering team in meetings with customers and suppliers.
* Design, develop, and deploy vehicle electrical systems, including embedded hardware and software, circuits, wiring, and mechanical interfaces.
* Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting of LRV electrical and mechanical systems, and document results.
* Create and review engineering-related documents, reports, and technical proposals.
* Proactively engage in special projects requested by Management.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering within the rolling stock industry.
* 2+ years of experience managing railway vehicle subsystem suppliers from the US or Europe.
* 2+ years of experience in requirement management for rolling stock (sub)systems.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot rolling stock subsystems using hardware, mechanical drawings, circuit schematics, and tools like PTU.
* Experience with railway RAMS engineering, including verification and validation.
* Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of successfully completing long-term projects.
* Excellent teaching and mentoring abilities to guide teams on complex technological concepts.
* Willingness and ability to travel domestically.


The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
