Accounting Analyst
High-end residential landscape service business is looking for an Accounting Analyst to support the financial operations of the business and be a key member of the corporate accounting team.  This position is a great opportunity for an experienced, reliable, and analytical, professional to join a growth-oriented and acquisitive platform. 
Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for weekly cash reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, understanding the root cause, and working collaboratively to resolve open items
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Maintain an accurate accounting ledger by posting journal entries in accordance with GAAP accrual accounting standards and understanding the P&L and Balance Sheet impact
  • Manage the credit card reconciliation and reporting process by holding brands accountable to deadlines and ensuring proper support for balances
  • Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies throughout the close process
  • Be a leader amongst the team in providing support for various audits
  • Perform testing on system upgrades and a future ERP integration
  • Manage forward momentum of projects alongside day-to-day responsibilities
  • Develop strong relationships with the accounting team and brand accounting leads
  • Be an active participant in training sessions and meetings
Desired Competencies
Technical Accounting: Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciling general ledgers, preparing financial statements, and variance analysis. Understands the impact of journal entries on the financial statements and has experience with the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Attention to Detail: Has an eye for identifying errors, inconsistencies, or anomalies and embodies the drive to understand the root cause and develop a solution. Experienced in reconciling balance sheet accounts, understanding variances, and correcting reconciling items.
Technology Proficiency: Advanced skills in excel (vlookups, pivot tables, imbedded formulas) and proficient in Quickbooks, among other more advanced ERPs.
Communication & Teamwork: Strong ability to work with cross-functional and remote teams. Acts as a team player who contributes to a positive workplace culture, supports colleagues, and encourages open communication.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Experience in multi-location entities and remote working relationships
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office suite skills, primarily Outlook and Excel (vlookups, pivot tables)
  • Quickbooks experience, as well as more sophisticated ERPs
  • Experience in landscaping, construction, manufacturing, or comparable service businesses is advantageous
