Basic Function : Under the general direction of the Activities Manager and Director of Activities, facilitate tennis programs, Axe Throwing Programs, and Activities Lawn Rentals. Maintain all tennis equipment, structures, and facilities, perform monthly inspections of tennis equipment, training and team development, as well as curriculum development. Maintain the Axe Throwing Targets, Axes, and furniture. Take care of Games on the Activities Lawn, clean them regularly and bring them inside during bad weather. Administrative/ supervisory responsibilities include payroll, budget forecasts, capitol requests and budget supervision. Supervise tennis staff and Axe Throwing staff, handle all guest issues, and decision making regarding the Games Department including planning the calendar of events for the year as well as booking and supervising any Group related games events. This position will also serve as a sales position for all Activities that Enchantment Resort has to offer. Act as an ambassador for the Trail House and the Artist cottage in addition to the Games department. Assist with Guest Check in at concierge during heavy arrival days by talking to guests in line about possible activities during their stay.
Work Performed :
- Provide the highest level of guest service at all times
- Provide leadership and facilitation
- Assign Tennis Pros and Axe Throwing Instructors to scheduled lessons fairly.
- Act as a Sales representative for the Trail House and Artist cottage booking these activities as needed.
- Assist at concierge during heavy arrival days, talk with guests waiting in line about the Activities we offer, promote the Trail House and Artist Cottage in addition to the Games Department.
- Instruct 1-12+ client/guests in daily Tennis programs (may be delegated to Tennis Pro)
- Instruct corporate/social groups in Tennis programs (may be delegated to Tennis Pro)
- Implement new programs and stay current with tennis initiatives, trends, products
- Maintain all equipment, structures, and facilities related to the Games program.
- Maintain a professional and presentable guest space including, but not limited to, 2 tennis courts, 5 pickleball courts, Tennis pro’s office, Tennis Viewing Deck, Games Grotto, Activities Lawn, and the Axe Throwing area.
- Responsible for reporting all departmental purchasing needs
- Be familiar with all specials and promotions throughout the resort
- Responsible for all cash, credit and charges incurred in tennis and activities center
- Planning a minimum of two tournaments per year; put in place 3 months in advance
- Updating and tracking all department certifications for Tennis team (CPR/AED, First Aid, USPTA, etc.)
- Assist in conducting interviews for hiring potential team members
- Train and guide all team members with all aspects of training and development.
- Work with Activities Manager to develop new Games programs.
- Work with Activities Manager to develop curriculum changes and improvements to existing programs
- Work with Activities Manager to develop risk management plans to enhance safety operations and develop standards for the department
- Develop and market group activities with Group Sales and Catering & Conferences
- Train and guide all team members with all aspects of training and development
- Assist in creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures for games programs.
- Implement new tennis reservation system
- Reviving onsite tennis image and cooperation from other departments
- Other duties as assigned

Responsibility & Authority :
- Maintain outside business contacts within the community to include associations that relate to Tennis programming
- Assist with yearly evaluations; assist with notes of conversation and all disciplinary actions, and decision making with the best interest of the department and resort
- Promote and market the Games program to guests to ensure profitability
- Oversee budget and payroll for the Games program
- Help direct and motivate the staff
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor degree preferred. 2+ years experience as tennis supervisor or similar Games related position. Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. USPTA certification is a plus. Must be detail oriented, creative, and flexible. Strong leadership, supervising and teaching skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and work as a team player. Computer skills necessary (Excel, Windows, and Microsoft Word). Must be able to exercise mature control over all Games programs and influence the team and individuals to accomplish particular objectives and intervene when necessary. Safety sensitive position.
