POSITION TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
DEPARTMENT: HUMAN SERVICES
REPORTS TO: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH MANAGER
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Professional assists the Behavioral Health Management team with achieving all department goals to ensure staff is trained and meeting contract standards. They develop and implement treatment plans, maintain progress reports and provide clinical and support services to behavioral health clients
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Standard: Treatment notes are completed within 48 hours of service being rendered.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Supervision/Management
This position has no supervisory responsibility
2. Confidentiality
This position is exposed to highly confidential client information including behavioral health and physical health diagnosis and disability information, demographic information and client financial status. Employee must exercise ethical standards in handling confidential information in direct care and supervisory duties
3. Mental Application and Responsibility
This position requires the ability to prioritize and organize workload, handle numerous tasks simultaneously and work under pressure. Must be able to interact with people in person at client homes and community settings, on the telephone, must be able to interact with discretion and professionalism regarding confidential client information. Must be able to have sound judgement regarding behavioral health situations
This position involves high level responsibility for administering company policies and procedures and a moderate level of responsibility for problem resolution and making clinical and administrative decisions. Staff must exercise sound judgement and ethical standards in handling direct care and supervisory duties
4. Internal and Public Contacts
This position involves a high degree of interaction with staff, behavioral health and housing clients, family members, and other social service agency staff in the community on a regular basis
5. Conditions and Equipment
The work environment includes client home visits, clinical, and office settings for the provision of services and may include outside settings for outgoing and assisting customers with living skills, i.e., housekeeping, shopping, and personal hygiene. The employee must remain awake and alert throughout each work shift. Equipment operation includes general office equipment, computers, communication tools, and motor vehicles
6. Physical Demands
The work environment includes home and office setting. Staff must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee must complete trainings for safety and crisis intervention
ABILITIES
1. Language (Communication)
Must be able to communicate clearly and effective orally and in writing; possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written a plus

Basic mathematics is required for this position
3. Reasoning
Position requires basic understanding of working with people who have unique disabilities, basic understanding of crisis prevention and intervention and to assist in a recovery model or plan. Basic understanding of First Aid and CPR

Position requires a full understanding of the Arizona State Housing Rules, Regulations and knowledge of Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Act Laws and understanding of HUD eligibility guidelines and Housing Contracts are required. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Comply with Fair Housing laws and Landlord/Tenant Act
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education
Master's degree or higher in related field or with two years of post-graduate experience
Licensure is a requirement under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 33, whose scope of practice allows the individual to:

SOAR certification preferred; specialty licenses or trainings
3. Other
Must be over 21 years of age
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Must be able to obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90-days of employment.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to perform oversight and support for all functions of BHT I - BHT III.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of Behavioral Health and Housing contracts and their respective deliverables.
- Coordination and attendance at stakeholder and provider meetings to ensure coordination of care
- Ensures that the quality of client documentation is complete and audit-ready
- Supports Behavioral Health Technicians and interns, when applicable, through modeling evidence-based practices and reviewing client documentation
- Development and implementation of treatment plans, assessments, and treatment interventions
- Ensuring the quality of client progress notes
Standard: Treatment notes are completed within 48 hours of service being rendered.
- Conducts periodic training with Behavioral Health Technicians on evidence-based practices and intervention techniques
- Attends all mandatory trainings, meetings, and clinical supervision
- Complete annual recertifications for clients' receiving supportive services and ADOH contract recipients
- Perform other duties as required by the Behavioral Health Manager or Director of Human Services. May provide backup for Behavioral Health Manager in their absence

- ) Except for a licensed substance abuse technician, engage in the practice of behavioral health as defined in A.R.S.§32-3251 under direct supervision as defined in A.A.C. R4-6-101,2.
