Responsibilities
We are seeking a mission-focused Cloud Systems Administrator IV to support and contribute to our government customer’s success in Reston, Virginia!
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
- Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
- Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
- Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
- Provision/harden Linux operating systems.
- Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Qualifications
Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- Must possess an active (<= 6 years) TS/SCI with counterintelligence polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or field applicable to the position required. Additional experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
- Eight or more years of relevant technical experience required.
- Current Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification.
- Full time on-site work at a government or customer facility.
- Demonstrated strong Linux skills with current/very recent experience, to include experience with Linux OS upgrades in a cloud environment (CentOS, RHEL, and/or Oracle).
- Experience working in an AWS environment and familiarity with console accesses to provision, maintain and monitor servers.
- Performing snapshots, disaster recovery, performance tuning.
- Installation, STIG hardening, patching.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and Tier 1 communication skills.
- Experience developing and maintaining critical documentation (SIPs, SAGs, SOPs, Getting started guides).
- Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files.
- Must have working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and run STIGs via a viewer or other automated tools.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- Experience working with Agile scrum teams.
- Experience with ElasticSearch.
- Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly.
- PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts.
- Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud).
- Experience supporting security audits and testing events.
Security Clearance Level
- TS/SCI with active counterintelligence polygraph.
Certifications
- Security+ or other IAT II/III level certification that is currently active.
