Overview:

The internship will involve working as a program manager for multiple Augmented and Virtual Reality based projects that GridRaster is working with DOD and supporting defense primes.

The goal of the internship is to learn the following: 

  • You will need to understand AR/VR technology components as it comes together and help track and facilitate any multi-functional tasks that are needed.
  • You will enjoy exciting and innovative projects and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment where accountability is paramount.
  • Define project plans and schedules and driving project execution with efficient resource utilization.
  • Manage internal and external multi-functional teams in engineering, operations, sales and marketing to deliver on the project.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies and program issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Evangelize company projects/products and conduct demo/workshops at marquee events/ workshops in the DOD ecosystem.
Requirements:
  • Education: BS/MS
  • Experience with Augmented Reality(AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) for maintenance operations/training (Preferred) Or synthetic environment for modeling, simulation and training.
  • Certification: Agile Project Management Comfortable with JIRA, SCRUM,etc.

Role:

Software integration TPM will play a key leadership role in Enterprise MR products and will define the planning and execution playbook for new products. The TPM will collaborate with engineering and product teams on strategy and goals, and own execution of all phases of the development cycle, planning requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks and clear communication to project stakeholders. The TPM will work closely with teams across multiple regions on software development, feature tuning, infra/tooling, product integration, and field testing.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop software roadmaps based on product and technical requirements and business needs.
  • Lead cross functional teams implementing the roadmap from the early stage of development through launch. Lead launch/release activities as it pertains to software features and deliverables.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues, and to deliver software features.
  • Work with teams to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks.
  • Develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment. Evangelize those practices to enable them to scale across different products.
  • Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans.
  • Provide feedback and influence product design and UX.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review.
  • Identify resources needed and work closely with the team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.
  • Set strategy and objectives, create plans, and collaborate across various stakeholders to align the test and quality direction.
  • Manage team to proactively seek improvement of the process to scale the program and improve productivity.
  • Define test coverage enhancement and streamline the process to scale the test, quality, and overall effectiveness.
  • Lead objective and key results planning, facilitate meetings, and progress tracking.
  • Will require some travel.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Program Manager or Software Product Manager managing software programs from inception to production.
  • Experience launching enterprise and/or cloud software or delivering large software releases.
  • Experience developing software roadmaps for enterprise software products.
  • Knowledge of program and issue tracking tools and software dashboards.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and best practices.
  • Experience with AR/VR/MR software and technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud native software development and deployment is a plus.
  • Experience working with the US Government agencies, DoD agencies, and defense contractors is a plus.
  • Experience with managing programs and product releases, building test automation systems, monitor systems, and improving testing effectiveness.
  • Experience in leading testing activities, managing a team, and leading engagement in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with partnerships across multiple sites (e.g., Asia, US).
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and communication skills.
