This Position is for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science with a public university work location in University, MS.Position DescriptionThe Department of Computer and Information Science within the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi is seeking applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field by appointment. Successful applicants will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, contribute to the Department's growing focus on computer security, conduct research in related areas, and supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students. While the primary emphasis is computer security and related fields, exceptional candidates in other research areas are also welcome to apply. Additionally, we encourage applications from dual-career couples, particularly where one applicant specializes in computer security or related areas, and the other has expertise in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering (see for ECE job openings).The Department currently has Ph.D. and M.S. Programs, as well as three undergraduate programs: The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science through the School of Engineering, which is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, The Bachelor of Science in Data Science also through the School of Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science through the College of Liberal Arts. The successful candidates will have a solid commitment to teaching and scholarly research.
