The Opportunity: Product Engineer - Product Engineer - 2nd ShiftCurtiss-Wright are looking for a 2nd Shift Product Engineer to join our Steam & Air Solutions team. You will be directing or performing the design and development of products and components of existing and new designs within the guidelines for product design that will meet industry and contractual requirements at the most efficient cost.This will be designated for 2nd shift Production Support. Onsite in Summerville, SC. Provide engineering support for new units, overhauls, repair orders, MRB and aftermarket parts related to steam turbines, air compressors and valves. Coordinate efforts to evaluate problems and provide solutions related to components, assemblies, raw material, manufacturing and documentation. Provide engineering direction to ensure products and are manufactured/procured in accordance with design and customer requirementsDefine product design requirements in accordance with contractCoordinate with other areas of engineering to assure contractual requirements are met. Conduct product improvement programs toward minimizing costs, improving performance and promoting standardizationInvestigate field problems and provide corrective action in terms of component redesign, revised operating procedures or maintenance practicesInvestigate manufacturing deviations and provide corrective action.May supervise and direct subordinates, product design engineers and/or technicians in the design and modification of components for steam turbines, air compressors and valves.Independently performs assignments that require knowledge of thermodynamics, machine design, metallurgy, installation, operation and application of steam turbines, air compressors, valves and aftermarket parts.Your Expertise:BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Aero Engineering discipline and 3-5 years of experience in the steam turbine or related industry requiredExperience in managing projects and working in a team environmentKnowledge of Oracle manufacturing systems/software3-5 years' experience in steam turbine or compressor manufacturing/design is an assetMust be a sole US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearanceAll applicants must be a sole U.S. citizen within the meaning of U.S. regulations.No unsolicited agency submittals please.
