Purpose of Role

The Department of History and Political Science is seeking a part-time staff member to assist in the advising of the Paralegal Studies Program.

In accordance with the list of responsibilities of the program director set forth by the ABA, the position includes the following tasks to be done in conjunction with the Chair of History and Political Science and the Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education:

  1. Defining major program objectives;
  2. Attracting, selecting, and retaining qualified faculty and encouraging faculty professional development;
  3. Assuring the proper organization and operation of the advisory committee;
  4. Maintaining liaison with the legal, paralegal, and paralegal education communities;
  5. Identifying and responding to the occupational and educational needs of the community;
  6. Handling career efforts or coordinating efforts with the central career office;
  7. Coordinating the educational program;
  8. Evaluating the overall program, including regular assessment of the extent to which a program is meeting its stated goals and objectives.

Candidate must possess a JD.

Compensation: $5000 per year.
