The Kiawah Island Club is one of the premier private Clubs in the world. This position would include working a rotating schedule with the rest of the staff through the grill, saute, hot apps, raw bar, and garde manger stations. The kitchen is very busy at all times so cleanliness, punctuality, and a hard work ethic are a must. There is plenty of opportunity for moving around, learning as much as possible, being involved in daily specials, menu adjustments, and overall kitchen operations.Job Tasks/DutiesResponsible for producing and providing premier food items while providing quality service to our members and guestsPrepares, cooks and portions meals while ensuring proper presentation of the plating of each menu item to be servedSets up service units with needed itemsEnsures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitaryAssists the Sous Chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchenMaintains a neat and professional appearanceSets up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station.Adheres to state and local health and safety regulationsPrepares, cooks and portions meals while ensuring proper presentation of the plating of each menu item to be servedAssists in the development and creation of menus to maintain or exceed established criteria, paying special attention to seasonal availabilityStores leftover food appropriately, inventories and maintains stocks of food and supplies; receives food and supplies, unpacks and stores in the appropriate locationEnsures that food preparation equipment, cooking and serving utensils and the kitchen work areas are orderly, clean and sanitaryAssists with other duties as assigned by Sous ChefKiawah Island Club OffersA knowledgeable and passionate management team which leads by exampleExcellent compensationThe best benefits package including health, vision, dental, short term/long term disability, 401K with employer contribution, fitness membership, and many other opportunitiesA work/life balanceFree parkingEmployee mealsOpportunity to grow in the field of hospitality at the Kiawah Island ClubSkills & RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Having a valid driver's license and your own, reliable transportation is required. You must have at least two years of experience as a Line Cook.
