Purpose & Impact:

The Vice President of Technology (VPIT) is responsible for developing the product roadmap and leading all aspects of the company’s technology department. This position is responsible for maintaining existing systems while providing direction in all technology-related issues in support of information operations. The VPIT plays an integral role in executing the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth, and positioning the company’s service offering as a leader in our industry.

Location: This position will work onsite out of our home office in Sandy Springs, GA, with work from home flexibility on Fridays.

What that looks like day to day:

  1. Develop yearly business plans, and IT long-range system plans supporting the company’s strategic plan.
  2. Manage all aspects of information technology including applications development, open systems platforms, local and wide area networks, operating systems installation and support, data security and communications.
  3. Establish clear priorities and goals for IT management and production in collaboration with the leadership team.
  4. Develop and coordinate administrative functions including capital and expense budgets, hardware acquisitions and vendor negotiations.
  5. Monitor information technology performance and recommend continual improvements.
  6. Build and lead a high performing IT team.
  7. Oversee IT resource allocation, goal setting, and performance metrics.
  8. Cultivate strong partnerships with IT stakeholders, both internal and external.
  9. Supervise software testing, and information systems security and maintenance.
  10. Work with technology vendors to ensure business requirements are understood and translated for optimal technical solutions for the company.
  11. Develop, implement and maintain a long-range staffing, hardware, operating systems, data networking and security plans that meet the strategic and growth needs of the business and ensure regulatory compliance.
  12. Oversee IT business plans, strategic direction, and standards for procedures and policies, and provide a framework for outsourced technology vendors.
  13. Responsible for the management of all store related IT systems.
  14. Responsible for software development, up time, and security of the E-Commerce company site, including inventory, pricing and sales feeds for all E-Commerce related integrations to the company’s core systems as well as sustained performance, planning, and future growth.
  15. Supervise web application and software development as well as generate new products and facilitate their entry to market.

Required Experience:

  1. 5+ years in a technology senior-level leadership position (S/VP, Director equivalent)
  2. 10+ years of extensive IT management experience
  3. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA with a specialization in Information Technology Management a plus
  4. Proven leadership experience in planning, goal setting, process development and budgeting within technology teams of 20 or more employees
  5. Experience leading major changes and initiatives with demonstrated skills in organizational and interpersonal change management
  6. Experience in evaluating technology problems and creating manageable solutions

Essential Competencies:

  1. Broad knowledge of software engineering, languages, frameworks, techniques and industry trends
  2. Ability to engage in case study analysis to gain insights into real-world business challenges
  3. Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
  4. Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
  5. Strong writing and presentation skills.
