We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Vice President of Finance role. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Vice President of Finance to join our dynamic Finance and Accounting team in Spencer MA. In this role, you will direct and oversee activities in the accounting, finance, and data governance functions, which may include cost and general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This role will establish and implement strategies for reconciling accounts as well as reporting financial results and data analytics. This hands-on role coordinates with other Flexcon Holding entities to accomplish reporting responsibilities and consolidation of financial results.

What will you do in this role?

  • Primarily responsible for strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization's long-term success.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers and/or directors.

  • Develops and implements organizational accounting policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Establishes internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.
  • Directs the maintenance of the organization's general ledger and oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting.
  • Prepares for audits and ensures that financial reporting is completed properly, and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates).
  • Coordinates with management and other financial functions to develop organizational budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Liaisons with senior leadership from accounting on matters of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Understand the principles of GAAP Inventory Valuation and ensure value is reported appropriately.
  • Summarizes the financial status of the organization; interprets asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.
  • Communicates with operations, marketing, R&D, HR, IT, and other departments on matters of budget approval and ROI for specific projects.
  • Supports the creation and maintenance of standard costs.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required and 12+ years’ experience in Accounting and Finance related field.
  • Lean Methodologies a plus.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Experience with General Ledger Systems, Financial Reporting Systems. Oracle a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to develop and mentor others.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proven willingness to initiate changes that improve performance (people, processes, technology).
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills.
  • Analytical thinking skills, detail-oriented, ability to meet deadlines, mathematical skills, and accounting skills.
