As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the TCIO Corporate technology team, you will be supporting a trading desk and an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with Portfolio managers to understand the requirements and drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert for the trading desk for various business requests.
- Regularly provide real-time support to traders, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firm-wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies.
- Add to the team culture of equity and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Advanced in Python and experience with data analysis tools like Pandas, NumPy for large dataset analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Extensive experience working as a technical lead and having project management skills.
- Strong cloud experience.
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Working experience in a Quantitative Research (QR) environment or supporting QR applications.
- Investment Banking product experience - Fixed income and Derivatives.
- Investment Banking experience especially with Order management and trade execution systems.
