Specific Responsibilities :
- Program and operate CMM and video inspection equipment for first piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Manage and maintain database of CMM and video inspection programs
- Maintain inspection equipment including probe and machine calibrations, periodic physical maintenance and software/hardware updates
- Identify and implement best work holding practices on a job by job basis; aid in design/procurement of work holding fixtures
- Interpret and communicate CMM results to support production
- Train production personnel in proper use of measuring equipment and interpretation of program results
- Perform inspections using a variety of hand measuring tools: Micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Assist in the development of work instructions/SOP's as needed; other duties as required.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
- Strong math skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Drive for continuous personal development and embrace ongoing training
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail
- Be a team player as well as a self starter; dependable with strong work ethic
- Previous CMM programming experience
- Experience with MCOSMOS
- Understanding of GD&T
- Previous machining experience; mechanical aptitude
- Previous inspection/metrology experience
- Previous CAD experience
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision
- Work in a production machine shop environment with a moderate level of industrial hazards
- Occasional travel required for training/customer visits (less than 5%).
