Title: Principal Quality Analyst/Engineer
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Duration: 12 months+
Compensation: $50-60/hr.

Objective of this role (Principal Quality Analyst/Engineer):
Our Client’s Information Technology, Quality Engineering Unit provides an opportunity to solve business critical and challenging problems using digital transformation, automation and technological innovations in building great products and applications with high quality, scalability and reliability. The CLIENT's digital tansformation and innovation requires efficient Quality Engineering test methodologiies and continuous test automation solutions for various applications-under-test (AUT) in support of agile and waterfall release delivery. Collabrate with test automation team in automating regression test suites, acceptance test suites, critical functional test suites for improving quality and efficiency. The CLIENT's Quality Engineering best practices are evolving to the next level by exploring script less automations, AI-Based QA Bot rollouts, new tools evaluations in delivering various SDLC / DevSecOps initiatives with high standards and operational excellence.
You will be doing Quality Assurance Testing for all CLIENT applications.
TASKS:
Principal Quality Analyst/Engineer perform exploratory, functional, regression and end to end integration testing, root cause analysis and provide concise project status reports with risks and mitigation plan towards quality delivery.
Participate cross-functionally in agile and/or waterfall SDLC phases, including business requirements analysis and requirements-based test planning, sprint planning, test design and execution.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders for an efficient QE deliverables and provide technical/tactical expertise to solve any challenges and improve overall quality.
Become an application SME and provide QE efforts estimation, optimize test design/ test execution, RCA, defects triage, prioritize and drive resolution of defects.
Review and provide constructive feedback on BRDs, TDDs and/or agile project documents, develop test strategy and QE capacity / test plans and update project / defect tracking tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc. and provide QE testing status with success metrics/KPIs.
Constantly look for opportunities to improve testing methodologies, test coverage and efficiency of both manual and automation tests with high standards.
Mentoring and Skills Enhancement of CLIENT employees by Supplier Personnel resources are considered an integral part of this engagement. Supplier Personnel will work in a collaborative fashion with CLIENT Executive to create and provide a specific training to designated CLIENT employees in those areas of CLIENT’s systems in which the Supplier Personnel has knowledge and expertise.
Required Time Allocation:
70% - Functional test project execution – Participate in Agile/Waterfall SDLC, Co-ordinate with Module Leads in Design, Development, Execution of Test Scenarios and Test cases.
10% - Support in building Test Strategy, Test Plan, QE Handbook, Release Notes and maintain Jira Dashboard.
10% - Peer review test design, test execution, RCA and overall standards of QE deliverables.
10% - Close coordination with multiple IT & business stakeholder, Functional guidance for automation team, connecting dots and ROI assessments.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:
7 -10 years of QA/Engineer hands-on experience
Managed and delivered multiple projects to completion from QA end
Has automation hands-on understanding is helpful
Functional Test project execution with hands-on involvement in Test Design, development, Execution, and coordination
Technical guidance & close coordination across various teams QA, Dev, Devops, vendors Etc.
Solid working ethics with good communication skills to ensure tech ideas are comprehended/understood across the board with no gaps
Candidate should be on working well & approachable w/wide range of team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Quality Engineering (QE) experience in delivering quality products or software applications.
Hands-on web/cloud/mobile based applications testing skills, expertise in conducting E2E testing for large scale and complex applications with micro services / APIs.
Prior work experience in Insurance Industry and having good knowledge on workers compensation insurance is a plus.
Well versed with SDLC Waterfall and Agile methodologies, Requirements analysis, Test Strategy, Test design, Test optimization, QE Deliverables Roadmap, test plan and test results.
Expertise in JIRA, Confluence and other test/defect management tools.
Good knowledge of Java, Linux, Windows and debugging / technical troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated skills in decision making and problem solving.
Demonstrated ability in coaching/developing and mentoring QE team members.
Track record of good time management, prioritizing projects and estimating work.
Experience with Mobile Testing via Manual or Automation (Appium & Android SDK) including any of integration solutions such as Browserstack is a plus.
Proficient with SQL for adding, modifying and extracting data from a RDBMS database including No-SQL or JSON formatted DBs.
Good to have TestNg/Junit, Maven/Ant, also Jenkins inclusive of Shell Scripting understanding for CI/CD/CT integrations with DevOps / DevSecOps.
Understanding Data Driven, Keyword Driven, Hybrid, ATDD frameworks inclusive of BDD & TDD techniques and POM based approach.
Working knowledge with version control tools (TFS, GIT or SVN) is a plus.
Working knowledge of AI, Machine Learning techniques and framework such as (CNTK, etc.)
