Registered Nurse - General (Ongoing Recruitment)
Task Order Performance Work Statement Service: RN – Level 2 Nursing Services
Locations:
• Tripler Army Medical Center
• Warrior Ohana Medical Home
• Desmond Doss Health Clinic, Island of Oahu, Hawaii
Hours of Performance: The Military Treatment Facility provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (366 days during leap years) including holidays. Clinics and units have designated operating hours.
Performance Requirements:
Labor Category: Nursing Services, Registered Nurse
• Registered nurses in this Labor Category are considered Level II Nurses and may be assigned or rotated between the following areas (both inpatient and outpatient wards):
• Medical/Surgical (Telemetry)
• Pediatric
• OB/GYN
• Surgical Admission Center (SAC)
• Float Pool
• Psychiatry
Qualifications:
Experience:
• Medical/Surg: 1 year in the last 5 years caring for patients in an ambulatory and/or acute care setting as an RN.
• Psychiatric: 1 year in the last 5 years caring for psychiatric inpatients as an RN.
• OB/GYN: 1 year in the last 5 years caring for acute/post-partum and GYN surgical patients as an RN.
• Pediatric: 1 year in the last 5 years caring for adult patients in a medical/surgical setting as an RN.
Degree/Education: Must be a graduate of a nursing program accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing or the National League for Nursing. International nurse graduates must possess valid certification for Full Education Course-by-Course Report by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Schools.
Certifications:
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on training through an American Heart Association approved training program. Online certification is unacceptable.
• For Telemetry Units and/or Clinical areas providing moderate sedation or general anesthesia to adults, must possess current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification through an American Heart Association approved training program.
Licensure/Registration: Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license from any state or territory of the United States.
HCW Duties:
• Knowledge of interpersonal relationships and ability to maintain composure while relating to patients and families.
• Assess patients’ conditions for potential or life-threatening crises.
• Document plan of care and care given in patients’ medical record.
• Administer medications by any ordered route and assess/document patient response to medications administered.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree: Associate degree in Nursing
Core Duties:
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Perform physical exams and health histories.
• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
• Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergencies.
