Description:

Meruelo Media’s 95.5 KLOS is seeking an Assistant Program Director/Music Director to work in their Los Angeles offices and studios. This person will report to the KLOS Program Director, perform multiple functions, and be a vital part of the KLOS Strategy Team and Meruelo Media Family.

The ideal candidate will have some management experience and be a Swiss army knife who can put together amazing music logs, but he/she is also: digitally and socially proficient, an out of the box thinker with a high-level understanding of radio, ratings, research, content creation, has a demonstrable track record of radio wins, works well under pressure and deadlines, has good relationships within the industry, is technologically savvy for 2019, has a vast understanding of the numerous rock lanes, a relentless work ethic, and a fearless personality that can cut through the clutter in the country’s #1 radio market, Los Angeles.

Job Duties:

  • Schedule and create first generation, daily music logs
  • Manage the continual updating of Music Master, which includes music, promos, clocks, liners, imaging, etc.
  • Assist in booking artists for KLOS events
  • Manage the on-air schedule of DJs
  • Write copy for imaging
  • Manage all promotions/liner copy for the studio
  • Manage all incoming music sent to the station
  • Conduct fill-in air shifts, when necessary
  • Along with Program Director and Marketing Director, interact with Artists, Artists Managers and Labels
  • Attend all programming meetings
  • Attend all marketing/promotion meetings
  • Attend sales calls, when necessary
  • Attend all big station events
  • Make stage announcements at concerts, when necessary
  • Record and produce commercial production, when necessary
  • Participate in station podcasts, when necessary

Minimum Requirements/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years radio experience or the equivalent inside the entertainment spectrum
  • Good or basic understanding of music scheduling systems (Selector, Music Master)
  • Good or basic understanding of automation systems (NextGen, Scott)
  • Good or basic understanding of digital audio systems (ProTools, Adobe Audition)
  • Past staff management experience
