Responsibilities

  • This person is responsible for the management of SUE projects including the phase/task management of the SUE/utility locating portion of multi-discipline projects and standalone SUE assignments.
  • Develop SUE field associates by providing training, mentorship, and routine performance reviews.
  • Major responsibilities include coordination and input on proposals, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality of the work, directing project efforts, meeting project financial objectives, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and surveyors to analyze, review and edit/correct collected data to ensure compliance with ASCE 38-22, project proposal requirements, and client expectations.
  • Maintain current familiarity with industry standard ASCE 38-22 designating and locating techniques, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electronic cable and pipe locating equipment, and vacuum excavation systems.
  • Assist the leadership team with identifying new technologies and service offerings to grow our core SUE operation.
  • Identify and attend appropriate industry and complementary conferences to identify new opportunities, clients, and teaming partners.
  • Oversee and manage ASCE 38-22 Quality Level A-D tasks, including project planning, field deployment, existing information assessment, and technology tools required to successfully execute utility designating and locating assignments.
  • Correlate visible utility facilities with existing utility records and field collected data.
  • Understand the utility coordination process, sources of record information, and possess the ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings.
  • Perform quality control review of project deliverables for compliance with the scope of work and client expectations.
  • Track project financials and provide support on invoicing and collection activities as required.
  • Participate in client meetings, conferences, seminars, and related business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in construction/engineering or survey/geomatics field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of SUE assistant project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years of total progressive experience in field/office utility locating processes and procedures.
  • Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) licensure or the ability to be licensed by the State of Florida is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with 2 years ILDOT.
  • Must be a team player with an attitude that fosters growth and teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced results-driven environment.
  • Must have valid driver's license and ability to travel on a limited basis.
  • Field work as needed.
