Responsible for Insurance Verification/Eligibility and assisting/answering questions for CareMount Medical staff.
This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 2 weeks of training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Our office is located at 480 Bedford Rd, Chappaqua, NY. Employees will be required to work some days onsite and some days from home.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility utilizing Phreesia verification platform, insurance carrier websites, or calling the insurance carrier.
- Receive and review Insurance Identification Forms from scheduling departments to identify non-participating insurance carriers to ensure proper notification is provided to the patient.
- Support various departments to determine if Legacy CareMount Medical participates with the patient's insurance.
- Assist Front Desk staff on how to correctly enter insurance into the billing system and to advise if Legacy CareMount Medical participates or does not participate with the patient's insurance.
- Enter insurances and bill out all applicable dates of service in the billing system for ambulatory care and newborn patients.
- Open and distribute interoffice mail as well as faxed documents for the Insurance Eligibility Department.
- Perform insurance entry audits and provide feedback to Front Desk staff.
- Performs audits of matching patient charts identified by staff via e-mail to determine if charts are duplicates.
- Processes merges of duplicate patient charts within the practice billing system.
- Monitors and updates Patient Merge jobs scheduled within the practice billing system.
- Processes Veterans Affairs authorizations.
- Assist in any special projects assigned by Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of Insurance experience in the medical field in a Front Desk or Insurance Verification role
- Knowledge and understanding of how to identify the correct Insurance from reviewing an insurance card
- Experience with a healthcare billing system
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
