Will work closely with the events system administrator on utilizing event marketing platforms and reporting. This position is ideal for an event planning professional who is committed to producing compelling event experiences that showcase Institute priorities and philanthropic impact and opportunities.Job RequirementsREQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least two years of events planning or project/program management experience; meticulous attention to detail; excellent organizational, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills; excellent command of language, grammar, and spelling for communicating effectively with diverse individuals by telephone, virtually, or in person; excellent judgment with confidential information; familiarity with Macintosh computers and proficiency with standard applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and support for MIT’s commitment to advancement and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) priorities. Must be able to independently manage several projects simultaneously with general supervision only; develop and manage project timelines and budgets; address issues and make decisions under pressure and during unforeseen challenges; function as part of a cohesive team, always working collegially and collaboratively in a fast-paced and demanding environment; and act as an ambassador for MIT. PREFERRED: experience working in a fundraising capacity within the nonprofit sector or higher education; experience supervising vendors; experience with Zoom, Cvent, G-Suite applications (e.g., Docs, Sheets), other collaborative tools (e.g., Workfront, Slack), and Dropbox; and familiarity with MIT.
