Position Overview
The Logistics Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction within RWI Logistics. By managing daily logistics operations, including scheduling, tracking, and resolving freight issues, this role directly supports our commitment to operational excellence. You will work closely with Carrier and Customer Sales/Account Representatives to meet customer demands effectively, leveraging our technology and processes to optimize logistics workflows.

What to Expect (Key Performance Objectives):
Within 1st Month :
  • Efficient Load Management: Efficiently enter and manage customer load data within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Ensure accurate tracking and timely updates of shipment statuses to facilitate seamless delivery processes.
Within 3 Months :
  • Proactive Communication and Issue Resolution: Maintain proactive continuous communication with carrier drivers, shipping personnel, and internal teams to ensure accurate scheduling, tracking, and management of freight, and to prevent and resolve any logistical issues. Escalate complex problems to the Operations Manager or Sales/Account Managers as needed, ensuring all parties are informed of the status and resolution strategies for problem loads.
  • Scheduling and Operational Coordination: Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate pick-up and delivery appointments for all loads. Notify shippers and receivers proactively of any changes, aiming to optimize the scheduling process and minimize disruptions.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Update receivers and customers regularly on the status of their loads, enhancing transparency and trust. Assist with the collection of documents from carriers and service providers and address any overage, shortage, and damage (OS&D) issues promptly, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
  • Strategic Relationship Building and Customer Engagement: Develop and strengthen relationships with internal partners and external customers by providing regular updates, handling inquiries, and resolving concerns efficiently. Your ability to engage with customers will be measured through customer satisfaction rates and feedback.
Within 6 Months :
  • Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the team by identifying opportunities for process improvements and participating in initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Your commitment to operational excellence will be assessed through improvements in process efficiency and reductions in issue resolution times.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Educational Background: High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience: Previous experience in a logistics coordinator or similar role is highly preferred, particularly if it includes managing load data in a Transportation Management System (TMS).

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and the ability to quickly learn company-specific software.
