As the Manager, Informatics, you will:

  • Collaborate on informatics and data analytics projects, providing engineering expertise in design, layout, and implementation.
  • Participate in project design meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, update, and validate analytical models, predictions, and reports.
  • Support the selection and development of tools and frameworks for data-driven operations, continuously improving systems.
  • Lead departmental growth by owning new initiatives, identifying value-added opportunities, and enhancing development processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends through education, professional networks, and publications, contributing to strategic planning with informed recommendations.
  • Prepare and execute action plans to improve production, quality, and customer service while resolving operational issues and identifying trends.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, university policies, and external guidance, while leading system improvements and resolving operational challenges.
  • Supervise employees by establishing goals, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching, ensuring continuous improvement through training.
  • Oversee budget forecasting, task prioritization, and performance evaluations, ensuring timely completion of duties and recommending corrective actions or salary adjustments as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, computer science, or any other analytical field or equivalent education/experience. 5 years of prior experience in the field.
  • Expertise in problem identification, solution development, and team leadership, with proficiency in data analytics and project management.
  • Expertise working with stakeholders from different backgrounds to build trust, understand business needs, and deliver solutions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying and prioritizing complex problems, developing actionable solutions, and addressing both immediate and long-term issues in operational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, organize diverse resources effectively, and ensure successful project completion.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams.
  • Demonstrated staff development, team-building, and performance evaluation skills.
  • Proficient in data analytics and capable of interpreting information models, managing relational databases, and utilizing data to inform stakeholder decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to various audiences.
  • Strong listening and discernment skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently without supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in office software.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to complex processes, and engage with ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Available and willing to support daily operations and respond to campus emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MIS, MBA, or other business or analytical field.
  • Knowledge of UNL building automation system, UNL maintenance management system.
  • Proficient with Tableau or similar software.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day functions of a data-enabled operations organization, and UNL procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant university policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of energy systems and energy accounting.

Posted Salary: $90,000/yr. minimum
