We work nationwide on heavy civil construction projects and are looking to add an estimator to our team that will prepare bids, quotes, and pricing schedules in response to solicitations from federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as private and commercial entities.Key Responsibilities: Manage the estimating process using cloud-based estimating software. Maintain standardized procedures for estimating. Review scopes of work, wage determinations, design specifications, and plans to analyze work requirements and create a work breakdown structure. Determine labor categories, equipment, materials, and permit requirements. Prepare itemized equipment and materials lists. Consult with clients and vendors to discuss estimates, resolve issues, and conduct make-or-buy analyses. Analyze vendor/supplier quotes to identify the most effective approach for project requirements. Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for senior management review. Interface with clients and senior management. Analyze completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates. Identify competitors and their pricing trends to establish winning strategies. Assist in preparing written proposals and quotes. Manage multiple bids simultaneously and complete gate reviews with senior management.Required Qualifications: 2+ years of estimating experience in construction/services. In-depth knowledge of heavy civil construction contracts. Experience with cost estimating software and 3D takeoff software (B2W preferred).
