Overview

Software Engineer is a member of the Software Quality Assurance team. This role will utilize attention to detail to identify, manage, control, and audit changes in a version control system. Design/maintain Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipelines. Interpersonal skills are required to bridge between the Software Development team and the Software Test team. Software Engineer is a primary contributor to the development of the next generation dental products.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Applies knowledge of software engineering principles to design, code, troubleshoot, and debug software applications.
  2. Develops solutions for software projects based on current and acquired technical knowledge and begins to develop skills and experience to provide original ideas and new solutions.
  3. Analyzes software problems to find suitable solutions to prototypes, production, or field failures. Establishes and coordinates design reviews with peers.
  4. Responsible for organizing data and preparing documentation for assigned projects.
  5. Responsible for thoroughly testing their software and may test peer software when necessary.
  6. Responsible for development and completion of all software documentation.
  7. Ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained, recording new ideas in the form of flow charts, state diagrams, etc. to convey concepts.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor degree or 4 years equivalent experience in a software related field.
  2. Embedded software development experience using C/C++.
  3. Ability to interpret software requirements and apply object-oriented design methodologies.
  4. Understanding of hardware/software integration techniques and software configuration management (CM) tools.
  5. Excellent written/oral communication skills with a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment while following established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience developing software in a Linux/UNIX environment.
  2. Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  3. Experience with distributed modeling and simulation, CAN Bus, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C interfaces, and Programmable Electrical Medical Systems (PEMS).
