Information Technology Business Analyst

Location: Los Angeles CA 90056 (100% Onsite)

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Business Analyst who can act as liaison/proxy between Crystal Stairs Inc (CSI) personnel and CSI vendors/business associates for problem resolution and system enhancements. Typical duties include project scope definition and development, analysis and documentation of business processes, business requirements, and System Specifications. The Business Analyst will verify that developed or acquired solutions meet specified business needs and assist with user acceptance testing and system implementation. Additional duties include recommending improvements to CSI processes and procedures and supporting Crystal Stairs' custom developed enterprise application (CC3). Responsibilities include:

  1. Understand CSI's Child Care Subsidy (CC3) software application and all software applications used by the Agency.
  2. Understand all funding terms and conditions for all subsidy programs.
  3. Provide user support, diagnose system problems, and perform basic administration tasks in support of CSI's Child Care Subsidy (CC3) software application.
  4. Interact with vendors, external entities, and staff to resolve system issues.
  5. Act as internal consultant to functional areas.
  6. Analyze and document business processes and workflows, gather user requirements, and define specifications for systems development or acquisition.
  7. Re-engineer business processes to improve efficiency.
  8. Project Manager for assigned initiatives, including planning, developing specific courses of action, timeframes, and deliverables; scheduling, facilitating, and leading meetings required to successfully implement projects; and implementing standardized project methodology.
  9. Prepare and maintain documentation required to capture and communicate pertinent information and produce project deliverables.
  10. Impart in-depth business knowledge to end users and project teams.
  11. Evaluate developed or acquired solutions for optimal efficiency and best match for functional requirements.
  12. Support team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  13. Apply contractual requirements to operational processes and procedures.
  14. Assist in design and implementation of user training programs.
  15. Keep abreast of child care industry regulations and best practices.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  1. Bachelor's degree or minimum two (2) years equivalent work experience.
  2. Project Management certification preferred.
  3. Minimum of one year experience as a project lead implementing software applications as a functional area proxy.
  4. Four (4) years experience as a business analyst, preferably within a nonprofit environment.
  5. Knowledge of business process analysis, including process documentation, requirements gathering, and specification definition.
  6. Familiarity with project management best practices (PMI) and business process re-engineering methodology.
  7. Knowledge of child care services funding and contractual requirements is desired.
