The Financial Analyst position is a global FP&A role supporting Wiley’s Technology Shared Services function. This position will report to the Director, FP&A Shared Services-Technology. As the Financial Analyst, you will support performance analysis, reporting, planning, and forecasting while also having exposure to Technology leadership. In this role, you will work with transactional data and partner inputs, analyzing, and deriving meaningful information to assist in decision making at the highest levels. It is critical that as the Financial Analyst you can read beyond the financials to understand the business and the key drivers of financial performance. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication skills, an analytical mind-set and will bring enthusiasm and a hard-working attitude to the team.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Produce accurate and timely delivery of monthly and quarterly results analysis and commentary, assessing key drivers of performance, risk, and financial issues.
  • Assist in monthly book close activities.
  • Deliver analysis and provide business insight on both results and forward-looking issues impacting business partner performance and the effectiveness of Shared Services.
  • Synthesizing large data sets into executive level reporting and insights.
  • Assist FP&A Leadership Team in establishing performance targets and develop long-range plans to achieve strategic goals.
  • Translate Business Partner operational strategies and objectives into long-term financial strategy.
  • Support Shared Services FP&A in coordination of financial planning & forecasting cycles, including resource management and third-party expense analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance offline planning and forecast models.
  • Perform scenario modeling and investment case analysis, as required.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Proven track record in planning, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to tell a compelling story with data, with experience summarizing analysis and preparing presentation materials for executive leaders.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to develop business insights from large data sets.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and forward-thinking individual.
  • High degree of achievement, drive, and interest in helping to drive strategic initiatives and change across an organization.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience using SAP or similar ERP system; experience in BPC, and TMI
    • Experience using Clarity Project and Portfolio Management, or similar tool.
