SUMMARY
Directs and manages a regional sales force responsible for achieving revenue goals within defined geographic territories. Develops sales plans and budgets for achieving sales goals. Provides sales personnel with the necessary support to retain customers and develop new customers.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the sale of products in several geographic territories and for the development and execution of sales plans, targets, and budgets to meet the overall business sales strategy and create incremental demand.
- Contributes to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies for the region.
- Creates and executes customer specific action plans to maximize sales opportunities.
- Monitors sales performance for regions of responsibility and re-allocates resources when needed to improve overall results.
- Utilizes technology platforms including SETVI, CRM, and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance the customer experience and increase efficiency for Hoshizaki.
- Provides coaching to sales personnel on the technical aspects of Hoshizaki’s products and services; marketing campaigns; and sales promotions.
- Provides coaching to sales personnel on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
- Supports sales personnel in the management of customer relationships and in the negotiation of contracts with key customers.
- Achieves sales objectives per Mid Term Business Plan (MTBP).
- Manages relationships with larger dealer principals.
- Manages relationships with senior regional chain management.
- Manages relationships with consultant principals.
- Manages relationships with independent distributor principals (where applicable).
- Manages relationships with independent rep principals (where applicable).
- Manages the activity of the Area Sales Managers.
- Delivers accurate and on time reports to the VP Regional Sales.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of experience developing, managing, and selling to channel partners.
- Experience in the food service equipment industry is required.
- Experience developing and motivating a salesforce.
- A proven sales track record of improving the profit & loss for a product line or business unit through improvements in sales strategies.
Knowledge & Skills
- Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct report employees which include some or all of the following positions:
- Area Sales Managers.
- Tasks include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law.
- Expert presentation and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to create partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Products, CRM, and reporting tools.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
- Ability to develop and motivate a salesforce.
- Customer focus and ability to build long lasting customer and partner relationships.
- Strong knowledge of industry products and competitor sales tactics.
Physical Requirements
- Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift boxes/materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
- Requires telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other employees and customers.
- Ability to read, write, listen, and communicate effectively.
