CGI Federal is hiring a Sr. UX Designer to work with a skilled and motivated team of professionals on a high-visibility Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cyber security program. You will support a dynamic, fast-paced project focused on improving the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies through the implementation and enhancement of a cybersecurity platform, providing integration services, and developing, securing and maintaining cybersecurity dashboards. You will work closely with a variety of agency stakeholders, supporting their mission, priorities, organization, and unique challenges. You will also support the development of additional cyber security offerings focused on next generation security solutions and technologies. The successful candidate for Senior UX Designer will be able to design new user interfaces and evolve existing designs based upon user research being conducted. They will be working closely with the client and front-end developer team members to ensure designs are effective, accessible, and feasible to implement.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Collaborate with the UX Lead and fellow team members to visualize complex concepts and interactions into annotated wireframes or interactive prototypes that solve the stated business or user problem area
- Create a wide variety of UX deliverables that visualize a common understanding of user needs, business needs, and technical feasibility to define and document the future of the product
- Facilitate meetings with Business Analysts and Tech Leads to obtain feedback on product direction to apply and align on a solution for the product
- Collaborate with fellow UX Designers to ensure consistency of experiences across applications
- Participate in UX design community within the program
- Work with teams to effectively design, build, and deliver cloud-based solutions
- Participate in design meetings with other projects and the client’s technical specialists
- Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5-8 years of experience of directly related practical experience and demonstrated ability to carry out the functions of the job
- 5+ years designing user interfaces, primarily for internal facing web applications
- Experience with Human-Centered Design
- Experience in User Research, including Discovery, Generative, and Evaluative
- Experience with Adobe XD, Figma, Mural, and Axure
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON
- Experience with front-end libraries, Angular, or React
- Experience designing 508 compliant user interfaces
- Experience using design systems, US Web Design System (USWDS)
- Understanding of the CDM Program
