The Senior Reinsurance Business Analyst will be instrumental in enhancing Starr’s reinsurance products. The candidate should possess a deep understanding of Reinsurance, P&C insurance, operations, and systems. This role requires close collaboration with underwriters, accounting, actuaries, and other business stakeholders. The business requirements must be shared with IT project managers, developers, and others to ensure the effective implementation and support of Starr’s reinsurance systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate IT reinsurance system requirements, including integrations, user interfaces, and reports to support product development and enhancements.
  2. Propose and design solutions focusing on operational and strategic needs.
  3. Draft business, functional, and process requirements to guide system enhancements and project implementations. Create and maintain comprehensive IT documentation for reinsurance products, including configuration guides, operational procedures, and IT standards.
  4. Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans to validate IT system functionality against business requirements.
  5. Prepare and execute project plans with transparent communications across all stakeholders.
  6. Provide IT support for reinsurance product-related issues, collaborating with technical teams to resolve system defects and enhance the user experience.
  7. Lead training initiatives on reinsurance systems and processes.
  8. Keep up to date with technological advancements, reinsurance market trends, and regulatory changes to ensure IT systems remain compliant and competitive.
  9. Serve as a reinsurance subject matter expert in cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT business analysis within the Reinsurance/Insurance industry, with emphasis on reinsurance.
  3. In-depth experience with reinsurance operations and IT systems, including data management, system integrations, and reporting.
  4. Proficiency in IT business analysis methodologies, modeling tools, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  5. Experience in managing and optimizing data warehouses for business intelligence purposes.
  6. Exceptional analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  8. Proven ability to manage multiple IT projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  9. Knowledge of ReinsurancePro, eReinsurance, or similar reinsurance systems is a plus.
