Summary of Position :
The Revenue Accountant III will perform all aspects of revenue management, including managing revenue streams from oil or gas production, analyzing production trends and price forecasts, and developing revenue strategies. They will monitor and analyze financial data. Additionally, the Revenue Accountant III will work closely with production staff to ensure accurate measurement and reporting of oil or gas volumes.
Primary Job Responsibilities :
- Ensure revenue received is verified against all purchaser payments and purchaser payments agree to the company's metered volumes.
- Prepare and explain detailed revenue variance analysis as part of monthly close.
- Accurately ensure revenue accounts receivable is offset against cash receipts after revenue has been uploaded/booked.
- Support the month-end financial reporting process.
- Prepare and track monthly non-op bookings to ensure payments are being received and recorded.
- Coordinate and print monthly owner royalty statements; as well as respond to royalty owner inquiries.
- Serve as a key contact for inquiries from other departments, owners, and audits.
- Prepare and pay state royalties and severance taxes as needed/assigned.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations as assigned.
- Maintain all revenue-related SOX controls.
- Prepare revenue source documentation for audit requests.
- Provide support and assistance to junior accountants or financial analysts to help enhance skills and the team's performance.
- Maintain electronic revenue records.
- Ensure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
- Assist management in resolving complex accounting issues or challenges that arise in upstream operations.

Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, closing, reporting, and hands-on accounting systems.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in oil and gas required; upstream preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word) required with advanced skills in Excel in particular.
- Certified Public Accountant license a plus.
- Oil & Gas related ERP system experience required.
Travel & Additional Requirements :
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
- Infrequent travel may be required to other Civitas offices and field locations.

Base Pay Range: $97,000 - $103,000
