Job Description

Do you want to work in an exciting and collaborative team environment?! Come be a part of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory legacy dedicated to supporting the mission of the US Navy. This position is for a Work Group Leader at the (NRF) Naval Reactors Facility site.
Some of the job duties include:
Directs daily operations of assigned work. Directs the work activity of skilled hourly employees such as production (technicians), testing (technicians), craft (electricians, carpenters, mechanics), and clerical (data entry, material tracking) workers.
Responsible for ensuring the correct and timely execution of manual work: operation, maintenance, and protection of the physical plant (i.e., the site), as well as fabrication of hardware and conducting tests, including nuclear safety of when handling nuclear fuel.
Responsible for clear verbal communication of work and work issues for senior management.
Exercises leadership qualities to influence and enlist the support of assigned personnel reports in the accomplishment of the assigned tasks.
Decision has a direct impact on work unit operations. Erroneous decisions or recommendations, or failure to achieve results, might cause delays in schedules.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

Proven experience in leadership role(s).
Proven experience in performing Expended Core Facility Operations.
Completed Lead Shop Supervisor Qualification with experience directing work.

Pay Range

$92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
