Position Description:

The Inventory Manager I will be responsible for the organization and optimization of physical fuel logistics and scheduling. The primary role of the Inventory Manager II will be to facilitate the transfer of refined products via truck load deliveries to inventories, FBOs and end users across the network. This role will interface with a variety of internal and external contacts and will be responsible for nominating, scheduling, and tracking the movement of fuel from start to finish. This role will help facilitating the flow of information in support of the overall procure to pay trade cycle and requires coordination between the Sales, Credit, Tax, Dispatch, Financial Operations, and accounting teams. The Inventory Manager II will participate in decision-making processes to help ensure that the company’s profitability and growth strategies are optimally designed and accurately monitored. The position will be key in the development and deployment of tactics that grow the business, reduce risk, and improve margins.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Fuel Operations, Logistics & Scheduling: coordinate the scheduling of fuel deliveries via truck load movements to our inventory locations.
  • Inventory Management: continually manage inventories to effectively forecast and ensure the scheduling of fuel deliveries into inventories is optimized and ratable.
  • Business and relationship development with key operations and logistics providers: act as primary interface with FBOs, trucking companies, suppliers, and other service providers.
  • Critical thinking and analysis of delivery requirements: Determine the lowest cost method of reliably supplying fuel. Customer demand projections are received monthly, and this information must be utilized to make strategic decisions regarding how to optimize fuel deliveries.
  • Finance and Pricing: Understanding pricing methodologies and providers (Platts, Argus, Opis) with the ability to review transactions to ensure proper contract terms have been met.


Recommended Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the fuel supply industry and/or general logistics
  • Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel, along with skilled ability in Microsoft Office software
  • Interest in Data Analytics with the ability produce useful insights from various data sources
  • Inventory management and strategic supply skills
  • Demonstrable record of success and achievement in the areas of supply, distribution, and logistics
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Initiative, self-motivation, attention to detail and ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and manage high levels of stress
  • Bachelor's degree highly recommended
