JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a strong Senior Systems Analyst to play a key role, deliver solutions to our business partners, solve complex problems, and strive to advance and sustain world-class technology platforms. This position requires strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to analyze and solve complex problems. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people across the organization. Excellent organization, communication, and delivery skills are required. This individual must be a team player with a desire and willingness to learn. As a member of the Investor Application Support Team , the Senior Systems Analyst plays a critical role in Wellington’s success by providing continuous support and solutions to the firm’s globally located investors across Asset Allocation, Commodities, Equity, Fixed Income, Macro Analysis and Risk Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Interact directly with investment professionals at all levels of the organization as a trusted advisor.
  2. Answer functional and technical questions from investment professionals about their tools, data, and reports in the areas of research, valuation, risk management, portfolio analysis and portfolio construction.
  3. Respond to requests from our business for ad hoc analysis as well as other information delivery solutions.
  4. Design, support, improve, and develop data validation and productivity tools and processes.
  5. Manage production incidents, determining root cause, appropriate corrective actions, and follow-up.
  6. Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improved methods and approaches to support investment processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s degree in computer science, business, economics, finance, mathematical finance, or related subject.
  2. Two years of business analysis or systems analysis experience in trading, investment management, or financial services environment.
  3. Or a bachelor’s degree in related subject with five years of business analysis or systems analysis experience.
  4. Analytical and problem-solving skills in buy-side investment management systems and data technologies.
  5. Writing business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans.
  6. Business analysis or systems analysis experience in financial statement analysis, investment management or financial services environment.
  7. Experience with financial instruments including stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives, and FX.
  8. Experience with advanced investment data concepts including holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance.
  9. Experience of investment workflows in the areas of research, valuation, analysis, risk management and portfolio construction.
  10. Experience writing SQL queries and working with database technologies such as Oracle or SQL Server.
  11. Experience working with Market Data platforms such as Bloomberg and FactSet.
  12. Experience with Python development.
  13. Client relationship skills.
  14. Experience working directly with business partners to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs.

The base salary range for this position is: USD 80,000 - 180,000. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process. Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/or Incentives, if eligible.
