Diploma/GED or Associate's Degree in Related Field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days and Cosmetologist License Illinois upon hire. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSMedical terminology courseSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.Essential Functions:Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.Works under the supervision of the physician to perform callus reduction and appropriately debride a nail while providing nail maintenance services.Provide nail maintenance services including nail hygiene, cleaning, trimming, cutting and filing while observing sanitation infection prevention and safety practices.Maintains patient environment, ensuring patients' privacy, safety and uses universal precautionsEducates and instructs patients on appropriate routine care of the foot as directed by physician instructions, including those patients with high risk diagnosisFollow appropriate disinfection protocols for equipment and demonstrate appropriate use of autoclave for sterilization.Rooming Patients (Taking vitals, going through medication/allergies)Assisting providers with minor proceduresStocking/closing down roomsRemoving splints/casts, dressing applications, staple and suture removalsPrepping unsterile instruments to be sent out to SPDDME fittingsCollects and processes specimens accuratelyMRI screeningWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
