A boutique law firm located in Manhattan’s Financial District is seeking an Attorney with trial and appellate experience, particularly in foreclosure litigation. This role involves case management, client communication, and document preparation, as well as representing clients in court. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil litigation and an interest in advancing their litigation skills in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Organize and manage case files, monitor calendars, and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Conduct discovery and coordinate case investigations.
  • Maintain open communication with clients regarding case progression, costs, and expenses.
  • Draft pleadings, motion papers, memoranda, demands, and notices.
  • Prepare for trial, including trial notebook assembly and comprehensive case analysis.
  • Develop litigation strategies, negotiate settlements, and resolve civil disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and ensure the capture of expected billable hours.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Must obtain admission to Federal District Courts within 18 months of employment.
  • Understanding of trial and appellate court procedures.
  • Demonstrated legal research and analytical skills.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in drafting motion papers or pleadings.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD)

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in New York State.

Skills:

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research and drafting.
  • Knowledge of case management software and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
