Lulu & Georgia is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and hard-working Product Development Assistant to join our growing team! You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where time management, sense of urgency, and multitasking are key. This position requires great attention to detail and excellent organization skills. In this role, you’ll report into our Sr. Product Development Manager and work closely with overseas vendors/agents, and our buying, planning, merchandising, and photoshoot teams. You will assist in managing product development and production for textile categories, as well as organizing and maintaining our sample library and logging all incoming products for department reviews, and photoshoots. This is a great role for someone who is interested in production, product development, Interior Design, and supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Support Sr. Product Development Manager in day-to-day tasks for pre-production and in-production projects; WIP management, maintaining/updating collection decks, textile collection developments
- Provide communication and related follow-ups for development with vendors. Ensure all vendors receive packages and are clear on development details
- Provide updates and tracking on all incoming development samples and photoshoot samples
- Managing and organizing all physical samples, images, swatches, and materials for active and past seasons
- Compose vendor development emails to ensure they arrive in-house on time for the appropriate meetings
- Upkeep of tracker for sample order due dates
- Responsible for coordination and shipping of sample packages to vendors, clients, and designers; pick up, packing, labeling, couriering to appropriate LA locations if applicable
- Maintain an organizational system for sample tracking and ongoing PD projects
- Maintain development files so they are organized, updated, and easily accessible
- Organize & check-in packages, prepare agenda for PD meetings
- Troubleshoot production issues and update internal teams with any delays or pertinent information
- Assist in Sourcing R&D sample follow-up
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, email, telephone) with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter and capable of working while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong interpersonal / teamwork skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office (excel) and Google Suite, photoshop skills preferred
