Overview

Position Summary: The Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) for Respiratory Care is a clinician with an expert knowledge base, complex decision-making skills, and clinical competencies. The CPL has primary responsibility for providing clinical expertise and practice, education and quality improvement in their assigned department or specialty. The CPL will work in conjunction with the clinical leaders of the department/specialty. The CPL will actively participate with interprofessional teams in the development of policies and procedures, patient care protocols, and standards of practice and education. He/she will provide leadership in expert clinical practice of patient-specific and population-based standards of care and assist in developing the skills and knowledge of the clinical staff to deliver evidence-based practice. He/she prepares and participates in formal and informal educational programs, skills lectures, presentations, evidence-based practice, and research projects to meet the needs of the department. Participates in and acts as a resource for performance improvement and evidence-based practice and research activities; specifically the evaluation and improvement of patient outcomes and staff education and professional development programs. As a work area clinical leader, he/she will work collaboratively with physician leaders and other members of the interprofessional team. The ideal candidate needs to be open and flexible with their schedule depending on the clinical projects at hand.

Schedule: Variable 10 hr shift and is 7AM-5:30PM, 1 full weekend shift per month.

Minimum Qualifications: 3-5 years clinical experience in Respiratory pediatrics and/or pulmonary and sleep. Pediatric experience required. Must be knowledgeable and skilled in pulmonary function testing, sleep medicine and/or respiratory care. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing. Previous clinical leadership experience preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications in Respiratory: Bachelors required or Master's degree preferred. Current California RCP licensure in respective discipline required. Current BLS & PALS Provider Card Required. Neonatal and Pediatric Specialty Certification from NBRC.


Pay Scale Information

$94,224.00-$169,728.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
