Program Manager, Beneficial Electrification League, Washington, DC (hybrid)

We are a non-profit organization on a mission to facilitate electrification, when it is beneficial, by promoting understanding among key stakeholders, championing necessary grid infrastructure, and developing actionable resources to accelerate implementation.

How you will support our team:

Responsibilities include:
• Manages ongoing and future portfolio of federal and state funding opportunities, including grants, rebates, IRA tax incentives, etc., as assigned.
• Manages the execution and administration of grants related to beneficial electrification initiatives, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and deadlines.
• Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail in program planning, budgeting, and monitoring to ensure efficient resource allocation and effective program delivery.
• Provides technical writing support in the development of grants and other funding proposals.
• Tracks DOE/USDA/EPA/State programs and funding opportunities relevant to electric utility stakeholders, specifically focused on electrification and resilience infrastructure investments.
• Analyzes program guidelines and eligibility criteria to determine suitability for BEL’s initiatives.
• Coordinates and facilitates effective dialogue with electric utilities, program representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Cultivates relationships with key stakeholders, including electric utility leaders, federal and state agency officials, and industry organizations to achieve mutual successes.
• Performs research on issues of interest for BEL sponsors and staff as assigned.
• Proactively shares relevant information with the BEL team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, economics, or communications.
• Proven experience in the energy/utility sector, ideally working with electric utilities on policy issues.
• Familiarity with federal and state energy/electrification programs and funding mechanisms.
• Highly motivated individual with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team, thriving in environments that require initiative, self-direction, and effective communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, assess feasibility, and develop program-related plans.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficient in using productivity tools and software for work-related duties, project management, data analysis, and report generation.
• Ability to travel as needed to support BEL meetings.
• Ability to work remotely and maintain a professional environment with consistent daytime hours.
• Preferred experience with existing BEL focus areas, including but not limited to utility rebate programs, the Appalachian Regional Commission, IRA tax credits, ammonia electrification, electric school buses, weatherization and electrification programs, etc.
