Job Description
This Designer will reports directly to the Engineering Manager. You will use Solidworks to design and draft mechanical assemblies and parts, as well as create and release the associated Bills of Materials, for mechanical and servo servo-based industrial machinery for filling retail packaging products with direction from senior engineers and project managers. Work in a collaborative environment with engineers, service, and assembly, in the development, installation and troubleshooting of industrial machinery. This position has growth opportunity to develop into a higher level design or controls position.
Key Qualifications:
  • Experience in design, fabrication and troubleshooting of machinery with economics and serviceability in mind
  • Solidworks experience (must be proficient in solid modeling CAD)
  • Experience applying pneumatic and servo actuators
  • Creation of accurate Bills of Materials and releases to production
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent math and writing skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Food machinery design experience and understanding of sanitary design principles a plus

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design machinery assemblies, sub-assemblies, and detail parts
  • Manage multiple projects to meet design completion deadlines
  • Provide direction for development of parts and operations manuals
  • Support Service Technicians by phone or at customer sites
  • Determine feasibility of sales inquiries regarding new machine & existing machine modifications
  • Support Assembly and manufacturing

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, qualified professional experience will be considered
