Job Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will work independently to execute, manage, and implement clinical research protocols, with guidance from an experienced Clinical Research Director and faculty scientists with an outstanding track record in research productivity and mentoring.
The CRC's duties may include but will not be limited to:
- Supporting the management and coordinating the tasks of multiple clinical research studies (e.g., surgical trials, novel precision therapies, lifestyle interventions, population health, and correlative science).
- Leading participant screening and enrollment, data and specimen collection and management; data entry and quality control; and regular reporting to the Clinical Research Director and faculty investigator team.
- Involvement in the creation and management of databases, datasets, or reports to support the research enterprise.
- Coordinating staff work schedules and assisting with training of Assistant CRCs.
- Acting as intermediary between scientific teams and cores that may span departments or units.
- Managing study protocols in the Committee on Human Research (CHR) online system (Institutional Review Board, IRB), and assisting with development or modification of study protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies; overseeing study data integrity; implementing and maintaining periodic quality control procedures; and participating in any internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. The salary range for this position is $34.32 - $55.19 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Moderate to high degree of database skills.
- Strong skills for meeting competing deadlines.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and apply good judgment.
- Ability to work well independently and prioritize multiple study needs.
- Ability to work with individuals/study participants from diverse social backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to create rapport and provide realistic insights for patient participation.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Experience with clinical research database software/programs (e.g., Redcap, Oncore, iMEDris).
- Prior experience managing IRB submissions/maintenance.
- Prior experience working in Clinical research/trials, preferably in oncology.
- High degree of project management skills.
- Knowledge of UCSF guidelines for research, confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and handling of infectious substances.
- Experience applying Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency in Spanish or Cantonese.
