Position Title: Director of Account Services

Salary Range: $110,763.21 - $155,068.50

Job Description Summary: The person in this position provides leadership, management, financial accountability, compliance, planning and oversight to the Account Services team. This position has responsibility for the processes and analytics that drive revenue from the agency channel. This includes application of data-based decision making, developing unit and individual performance metrics that lead to achieving the revenue and margin goals for the cooperative purchasing and other solutions.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage the team to achieve Account related P&L (Revenue and Margin) and other goals to support cooperative purchasing and other solutions.
  • Manage activities of team members to achieve the P&L and other goals for the team.
  • Lead the development of annual performance metrics for individuals and the entire team to align the agency channel to drive revenue and margin.
  • Develop revenue and margin (expense) budgets for the team to achieve assigned revenue and margin goals.
  • Manage the cost centers for the team to maximize revenue and margin.
  • Manage the activities of the assigned team.
    • Ensure that the team operates effectively within Sourcewell, supports our overall mission, and applies our values in all interactions.
    • Lead the team by delegating authority to team members to conduct daily operations while providing oversight to ensure that the unit operates according to the Cooperative Purchasing Program Document, other solution program documents and complies with all compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage the Account Services team’s daily activity. This includes:
      • Develop account structure, validation, and conversion process.
      • Lead the processes of managing electronic chat communications, marketing communications and interactions on the web in coordination with other teams.
      • Develop and manage a strategic plan to process client complaints, inquiries, and staff workloads.
      • Develop call and response cards to assist in the effectiveness of staff delivery.
      • Develop and implement strategies to maintain data and account integrity within Sourcewell systems.
      • Actively participate in client experience mapping and related improvement projects.
      • Manage reports and insights that analyze CRM data.
      • Develop individual KPI’s for assigned staff.
      • Recommend and implement changes to processes and procedures.
      • Manage processes to ensure that the business unit works collaboratively with the Government Accounts, Category Development, Cooperative Purchasing, Procurement, Government Relations (GR), and Marketing teams.
      • Manage training programs to ensure that the team follows best practices for engaging, developing, and growing accounts.
      • Manage the team's use of outside resources (including consultants and data providers) to increase the impact that their teams make.
    • Manage team members.
      • Supervise, develop, train, and mentor assigned staff.
      • Provide direction and actionable goals to ensure that the team understands how their performance impacts department, division and organizational strategies and goals.
      • Work with the Director of Government Accounts to identify staffing needs and ensure that the team has appropriate headcount to support growth plans.
      • Manage hiring, training, and onboarding processes and ensure that these are consistent with those followed by the Account team.

      • Develop and lead your team to become open, transparent, innovative, and collaborative to the Sourcewell team and external partners.
    • Represent Sourcewell, Cooperative Purchasing, and Participating Agency concerns.
      • Represent Participating Agency concerns at internal events, board meetings and retreats.
      • Represent Sourcewell at civic and social functions by attending local, regional, state, and national meetings, and conferences.
      • Attend and present at conferences, trade shows, supplier meetings, client meetings and other public events.
    • Other related areas and duties as assigned.
    • Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
      • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in operations, business management, business administration, client relations/development, or other directly related experience OR – Combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to nine (9) years.
      • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
      • Public speaking and presentation experience.
      • Budget design and management experience.
      • Three (3) years demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience.
      • Valid driver’s license.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in related field of study.
      • Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in sales management, P&L management, business development, account management, client relations/development, or other directly related experience.
      • Five (5) years demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience.
      • Experience working with public sector entities.

      Salary Range:

      Grade 16, $110,763.21 - $155,068.50, commensurate with experience.

      Location:

      • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
      • This role supervises hourly employees that are located onsite which will require you to commute to our headquarters regularly. The ideal candidate must be within a 3-hour traveling distance from Staples, MN.
      • On occasion may be expected to attend meetings or trainings at Sourcewell's headquarters in Staples, advance notice would be given to team member.
      • Occasional need to travel to trade shows, and meet with clients.
