The University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC) is recruiting a talented Physician Scientist to lead our team in lung cancer research. The candidate will support our mission of delivering top-quality care, improve patient outcomes through innovative research, and fulfill teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's leading referral center.

The Medical Oncology Division provides compassionate, state-of-the-art medical care to cancer patients; developing novel therapeutic and treatment options through clinical, translational, and molecular research; and educating and training the field’s next generation of cancer experts, with 39 faculty members dedicated to developing innovative treatments for these patients.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in lung cancer research, evidenced by a robust publication record and successful grant funding. Additionally, candidates will have also demonstrated the excellence experience and interests in teaching of medical student, residents/fellows and staff as well as have proven ability to lead research projects and collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • D., M.D/Ph.D, or equivalent degree with board certification in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Qualify for the license in the State of Kansas
