The MAP Outreach Specialist Performs duties of moderate complexity, judgement, and scope in coordinating and managing all aspects related to Medical Access Plan (MAP). The ideal candidate will obtain vital patient information, work to obtain authorization to help uninsured and underinsured patients have access to a medical home. Will serve as a resource to patients and their families, clinical staff, physicians, and community partners.Essential FunctionsCoordinates information surrounding Medical Access Plan for our uninsured and underinsured patients.Works with clinics to identify MAP patients. Help determine correct information is provided, followings up on with potential MAP patients, and performs regular account maintenance.Develops a plan for MAP patients and their families.Works with patients and develops resolutions to potential patient financial out-of-pocket exposure and helps them plan and overcome these obstacles.Obtains all necessary authorizations for MAP coverage while working close with clinic staff.Ensure that information is always current.Qualifications:High School graduate with 1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Must be able to work independently and possess strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills and be able to analyze financial documents. Extensive analytical skills and focus on details. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Microsoft Excel, and Word experience required.
