Purpose:

The Director of Operations will oversee the end-to-end production, supply chain, and logistics functions for Rainbow West Apparel (HOP LUN US), ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high product quality. This leadership role is crucial in driving operational excellence from raw material sourcing to product delivery, aligning with fast-paced fashion industry timelines. The Director will collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure smooth execution of owned and private label brands, manage vendor relationships, and lead continuous improvements to support the company's strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations across production, logistics, and distribution to ensure efficiency.
Collaborate with design and product development teams to streamline operational processes.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives and enhance teamwork.
Optimize the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to product delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective operations.
Manage inventory levels with sales to balance production needs while maintaining cost efficiency.
Monitor operational budgets, controlling costs to align with financial goals.
Assist with financial reporting related to production and inventory management.
Lead, mentor, and train operations teams to enhance their skills and performance.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and team performance evaluations to build a high-functioning team.
Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating terms to enhance cost efficiency while maintaining product quality.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability practices, adhering to company policies and federal/state laws.
Report operational performance metrics to senior leadership, providing insights for decision-making.
Develop and track sustainability metrics to measure progress in eco-friendly practices within production and operations.
Prepare weekly management reports, including operational metrics and dashboards for executive review.
Collaborate with C-level executives and department heads to align operational strategies with overall company goals.
Implement and manage technology platforms, such as ERP systems and supply chain software, to enhance operational efficiency.
Identify potential operational risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in production or the supply chain.
Work closely with customer service and sales teams to ensure operational capabilities meet customer expectations, addressing any bottlenecks proactively.
Support and work closely with CEO to build processes, assess processes and optimize workflow.
Oversee internal and external audits and ensure certification compliance (SCOPE, EDI).
Lead audit and certification teams, improving workflows for efficiency and compliance.

Education Requirements:

10+ years of senior management experience in the apparel industry, with a focus on operations, production, and supply chain management.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of fashion/apparel industry trends, production cycles, and sustainability practices. Experience with Big Box stores is a plus.
Ability to solve complex operational issues and implement solutions.
Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to present ideas and collaborate across departments.
Familiar with industry-specific software, supply chain management tools, and ERP systems.
Proficiency with Walmart Retail Link is a plus; experience with Sage a plus.
