Company Overview As a U.S. Department of Defense small business, RDA supports the U.S. Navy in its Anti-Submarine Warfare research and development activities. RDA provides critical expertise in research and development topics, data analysis, and flight test support. RDAs key product is LCAP, its Low-Cost Advanced Processor, used onboard the Navys P-8A Poseidon submarine-hunting aircraft. LCAP enables the Navy to quickly and efficiently develop its next generation of sonobuoys and signal processing and better leverage its advantage in undersea environments. Description RDA is seeking a Project Engineer for coordinating tasking and efforts at its office in Patuxent River, MD. The Project Engineer will ensure the project procedures and controls are followed, manage the project efforts, and lead problem resolution as they occur. Self-motivated, analytical, results-orientated, a quick learner, and a problem solver. Possess well-developed anticipation skills and the ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy. Responsibilities Tasking may include: Interface with system or program contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding the technical aspects of the programs/projects. Analyze and coordinate the schedule, timeline, procurement, product or service on a per project basis. Direct and manage the work of technical staff. May serve as a point of contact for the government customer. Possess current A+ System Administration certification or have ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire. Required Qualifications Education: Two-year technical Associates Degree from a trade school, plus 5 years of experience. Eight years of experience may substitute for no trade school completion. Prior military aviation integration and operations experience a plus.Position requires experience in engineering/technology development, design, integration and laboratory/aircraft test support services. Clearance: Candidate must currently have a SECRET clearance and be able to acquire a DoD TOP SECRET clearance.Travel: Occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel will be required. Must be willing to travel 10% - 15%.Must have ability to read/interpret and draft technical documentation such as white papers and briefings. Must have experience in participation with Navy/USMC Fleet or local Test Squadron ASW exercises and operations with the P-8A aircraft or other platforms. Position may require completing an FAA Flight Physical and U.S. Navy Water Survival in the performance of operating test equipment/instrumentation onboard P-8A aircraft or others. Desired Qualifications Experience supporting government customers such as PMA-264/NAWCAD/ONR, in the pursuit of achieving their program/project objectives is highly desired. As part of the aircraft operations efforts, experience coordinating and leading aircraft integration and operations with inflight test instrumentation tools is also highly desired.
