Our data engineering team plays a critical role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that empowers our business decisions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, custom script development, and a deep understanding of the real estate industry.

Position Overview:

You will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes that enable real-time data integration and transformation. Your expertise in Microsoft SQL Database and custom script development will be critical in ensuring the accuracy and availability of our data. Leveraging your deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases, you will design and optimize database structures, implement data security measures, and monitor performance to manage large datasets efficiently.

This hybrid position is based in our Chicago Loop headquarters. Local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes for real-time data integration and transformation.
  2. Design, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL databases to store and manage large datasets efficiently.
  3. Create custom scripts, functions, and stored procedures to automate data processes and ensure data accuracy.
  4. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design data solutions that meet business needs.
  5. Utilize Azure Data Factory to build data integration and transformation workflows.
  6. Develop, implement, and maintain data security and privacy measures to ensure data compliance.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly to ensure data availability and accuracy.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data platform solutions.
  9. Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
  3. Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Database, including data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  4. Proficient in writing custom scripts using languages such as Python, R, or PowerShell.
  5. Experience in developing data platforms in Microsoft Azure, with a focus on Azure Data Factory.
  6. In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  7. Knowledge of real estate industry data and specific requirements is preferred.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  10. Ability to work on-site in our Chicago office 2-3 days a week.
